Homemade Teething Biscuits

I made these for The High Plainsbaby today. She’s over 7 months now and has already cut one tooth with another on the way. She’s been eating solids since the day she turned 6 months old and is now eating peas, green beans, various fruits, rice, oatmeal and has had a taste of chicken. I follow Baby Led Weaning and do not feed store bought baby foods or puréed food. I just smash it up and oh it on her tray and for the most part, whatever she gets into her mouth herself is what she eats. She has been demanding spoon feeding more as her appetite for food increases though. She’s still and will be primarily breastfed for many more months.

Back to the teething biscuits, I thought she’d enjoy something to naw on so I made these today

1 cup steel cut oats processed to a powder

1 cup quick oats

1 cup applesauce

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 tbs coconut oil

Mix, shape into bars, bake at 350 30-45 minutes. Flip a few times. At my altitude it took 45 minutes then I turned the oven off and let them sit as the oven cooled. They came out nice and hard. They were rough around the edges so I took one and scraped it with a butter knife before giving it to her.
