I made my first batch of Chèvre (goat cheese) yesterday. We are full swing into milking our girls and getting about .75 gallons of milk a day between the two of them. It takes a gallon to make about 2lbs of cheese. It turned out great and has a very mild flavor. Chevre is very easy to make and a great choice for first time cheese making.
Today I made baguettes and served it with the cheese and apricot pepper jelly that I made last week.
